Matt Wells out as Texas Tech Head Football Coach

Matt Wells was fired as head football coach at Texas Tech.  Wells was 13-17 during his tenure as the Red Raiders head football coach.  Here is a look at the Texas Tech Red Raiders' football program since 2008 (the first year that I collected all the variables needed for the Complex Invasion College Football Production Model).  This time period spans the last two seasons of Mike Leach as head football coach (2008-2009), head coach Tommy Tuberville (2010-2012), head coach Kliff Kingsbury (2013-2018), and Matt Wells (2019-2021*).  After the figure below is a more detailed look at the Texas Tech Red Raiders football program during head coach Wells' tenure based on the Complex Invasion College Football Production Model using data provided by www.cfbstats.com.  (The vertical school color bars represent seasons where head coaches changed).
